Judit Polgar is considered the strongest female chess player of all time. In 1991, Polgar achieved the title of Grandmaster at the age of 15 years and 4 months. She is the first, and to date only, woman to have surpassed the 2700 ELO, reaching a career peak rating of 2735 and peak world ranking of No. 8, both achieved in 2005.
Today we’re going to take a look at a beautiful game played by Polgar when she was just 12-years old. The game was played in the Women Chess Olympiad 1988, and her opponent was Pavlina Angelova. Polgar set a deadly trap for Angelova, and won the game in just 17 moves! Our guest coach Mato Jelic has prepared a very interesting video lesson for you, analysing this beautiful game.
