Marble Arch businesses unite for Silver Sunday Board-Gaming Gala

Volunteers from property and construction companies, retailers, banks and hotel operators were among the 30 organisations that joined Marble Arch London BID’s Silver Sunday event at the Victory Service Club on 10 October 2019.

Around 30 volunteers from locally based companies including Barclays, British Land, Cirrus Logic, etc.venues, Fulcrum Asset Management, Galliford Try, Grosvenor Casino, HBL Bank, Hilton London Metropole, London Marriott Hotel Park Lane, Montcalm Marble Arch Hotel, Multiplex contractors Essex Services Group PLC, Starbucks and Waitrose contributed their time to make the event a success.
Attended by more than 60 guests from the local community, the Board-Gaming Gala was organised as part of Silver Sunday, a nationwide programme to celebrate the contribution of older people in the UK. Volunteers hosted board game tables, provided homemade cakes and beverages, and ensured that guests had an enjoyable afternoon.
The event offered activities including Cluedo, Dominoes, Frustration, Uno, Pictionary, Scrabble and card games, and there was also entertainment with a special performance by local Connaught House School choir.
The afternoon included a welcome by Major General Matthew Sykes CVO, Chief Executive of the Sir Simon Milton Foundation, the organisation behind Silver Sunday, while Air Commodore Nigel Beet CBE, CEO/Club Secretary of the Victory Services Club closed the event.
