The Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley | 2019 Paint-It-Forward Nominee

The Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley (BGCSFV) was established in December 1966 by a small group of local and community business leaders. The Club began its operations in Pacoima, in a 300-square-foot storefront space. In May of 1968, under the leadership and direction of its President/CEO and with the vision and support of the Board of Directors, the momentum needed for the Club’s growth began. To date, the Club is the oldest not-for-profit full service youth agency in Pacoima, operating out of a 30,000-square-foot complex.

For over 50 years, the Club has been in the forefront of youth development in the impoverished community of Pacoima, working with young people from disadvantaged economic, social, and family circumstances. The Club is dedicated to ensuring that all youth, especially our community’s disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures.

Our Mission is to inspire and empower all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.

Our Vision is to provide a world-class Club experience that assures success is within reach of every young person who enters our doors, with all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for the future, demonstrating good character and citizenship, and living a healthy lifestyle.

Our Club house is in need of a true face-lift, not only on the outside but on the inside as well. Our exterior and the art department have not been painted since early 2000, since that time over 50,000 youth have come through our doors. We also have a Learning Center, several hallways, a games-room counter with cabinets , a counseling office, and an outdoor pergola…areas that have been weather beaten, kid conquered or have just frayed over time… that can truly benefit from an ALLBRiGHT makeover!
