Festember takes immense pride in announcing the next guest of the Carpe Diem series, the highest-rated chess player in the country, and India’s first grandmaster – five time world champion, Vishwanathan Anand!

At the age of 6, Vishwanathan Anand was aptly nicknamed the “Lightning kid” for his rapid playing speed. Since then, he has repeatedly demonstrated his prowess by winning numerous international championships and tournaments over the years. He is the recipient of several awards and honors including Padma Vibhushan and Chess Oscar, to name a few. Today, he serves as a role model and inspiration to the youth of the country.
